Summer Food Service Program to Provide Free Summer Meals to Low-Income Children

The City of Cleveland ranks 1st in child poverty among the 50 largest U.S. cities. In addition, only a small fraction (9%) of the children that receive meals during the school year are served in the summer. This summer, the Greater Cleveland Food Bank and Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) are working to expand summer food service program offerings. {MORE}

FREE Home Buyer's Education Seminar

The City of Warrensville Heights has partnered with Breaking Chains Inc. to conduct Home buyer Education Seminars for individuals interested in preparing for the home buying process. Breaking Chains is a United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) certified housing agency. The Home buyer Education Seminars will be a four part series that will cover money management, budgeting, credit and shopping for a mortgage loan. Each series will be a two hours session. Individuals participating in the seminars will gain knowledge to improve their money management skills, obtain a better understanding of their financial capabilities, and increase their creditworthiness and the ultimate goal of preparing for homeownership. Remaining Seminar Sessions: May 3rd, 10th, 17th & 24th June 7th, 14, 21th & 28th July 5th, 12th, 18th & 26th August 2nd, 9th, 16th & 23rd September 6th, 13th, 20th & 27th Upon completing the four part series, participants will be issued a certificate a stating they have successfully completed the Home buyer Education Requirement.
