| Proposed Plans for Multi-Family Housing The city has partnered with LDG Development, LLC—one of the nation’s largest developers of high-quality affordable housing—to construct 186 multi-family units behind the Warrensville Heights Branch of the Cuyahoga County Library and the Warrensville Family YMCA. | Car Wash Clean Express Auto Wash is coming to the city at the corner of Richmond Road and Miles Road, next to GetGo. The project will start with demolition of the single-family homes to make way for the new development. The car wash will span 3,717 sq. ft. and 20 vacuum spaces along with parking. | |

| Exploring New Senior Housing Warrensville Heights has an urgent and growing need for additional senior housing. Currently, the city has only one senior housing development—Newport Square —which was built in 2006 and offers approximately 70 two-bedroom, two-bath units designed to support independent living for residents aged 55 and older. This community provides modern amenities and a comfortable environment. The high demand is evident with a reported two-year waiting list. Expanding senior housing would meet older residents' needs and free up homes for new families—a long-term goal for Warrensville Heights. Read more | |
| ODOT Safe Routes to Schools Underway Warrensville Heights was awarded the second grant in a series to support its Safe Routes to School (SRTS) initiative, which aims to improve the safety and accessibility of walking and biking routes for students. The funding will be used to upgrade sidewalks, crosswalks, bike lanes, and signage, making travel to and from school safer for children. The program also encourages more students to walk or bike by addressing barriers such as traffic dangers and lack of sidewalks and infrastructure. Construction is scheduled to begin in September 2025. Read more GE Healthcare expansion To support continued growth and improve production efficiency, GE Healthcare recently completed a $25 million, 4,500 sq. ft. expansion at its Warrensville Heights site, featuring a powerful 8,000-ton forge—one of only two in the world capable of producing specialized X-ray tube targets for CT scanners. Built in Germany and standing 25 feet tall (with 15 feet below ground), the forge was installed to bring critical part production in-house, reducing costs, scrap, and delivery delays. The Community and Economic Development Department followed the project closely, which has received regional attention—including a visit from State Congresswoman Shontel Brown. This groundbreaking investment highlights the City of Warrensville Heights as a hub for advanced manufacturing and innovation, showcasing the powerful progress being made right here in our community. | |
| New Lighting along Harvard and Richmond Roads A vital lighting infrastructure project, funded by Cuyahoga County CDSG and NOPEC, in collaboration with the Chagrin Highlands Community Association, Inc., has resulted in the installation of 19 new streetlights along Richmond and Harvard Roads. These upgrades enhance the area’s modern aesthetic while addressing critical safety concerns related to inadequate lighting near Harvard Park. | |
| Sustainable Electric Vehicle Chargers City Council passed an ordinance allowing the city to enter into an agreement with NOACA to bring Level 3 electric car chargers to the Municipal Center, furthering the city’s commitment to sustainability and innovation. As part of the 2021-2024 Transportation Improvement Project, NOACA allocated $3 million for the installation of EV charging stations across the region. NOACA identified 120 public locations within its five-county service area, including Warrensville Heights, to support the growing demand for EV infrastructure. Read More | |
